1.
Professional video quality
thanks to high sensitivity and high dynamic range The LUMIX BGH1 uses a 10.2 megapixel Live MOS sensor with Dual Native ISO technology and the Venus Engine image processor. Normally, image noise increases with increasing ISO sensitivity, but thanks to the Dual Native ISO technology, the sensor of the LUMIX BGH1 is read out via two separate circuits, as with the professional Varicam models from Panasonic. This provides two lossless native ISO sensitivities, which ensures significantly reduced image noise and allows higher sensitivities up to ISO 51200.

The LUMIX BGH1 records internally with C4K/4K resolution and 4:2:0 10-bit color depth at either 60p or 50p. It can record video with a gamma curve that is compatible with the ITU-R BT.2100 standard. It also offers Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) for HDR recordings, which can be saved at a significantly reduced data rate thanks to the HEVC/H.265 codec.

With the pre-installed V-Log L mode, the camera delivers a dynamic range of 13 f-stops and can output this signal to a recorder via HDMI in C4K/4K 4:2:2 10-bit. The VFR mode (Variable Frame Rate) allows recordings with variable frame rates and therefore slow motion or fast motion. With C4K/4K resolution, recordings can be made at 60 frames per second, so that in 24p mode a maximum of 2.5 times slower slow motion is created. With Full HD, the camera allows a maximum of 240 frames* per second and thus enables 10x slow motion in 24p. The minimum frame rate for time-lapse recordings is 2 frames per second.

The LUMIX BGH1 also uses advanced deep learning technology and recognizes objects - both people and animals such as dogs, cats and birds that move very quickly. In order to enable even more precise focus tracking in real time, especially with people, there is now separate head detection in addition to eye, face and body detection. The camera can therefore reliably track the focus of people even if they move quickly, turn away from the camera, tilt their head or move far away from the camera.

2.
High ease of use and scalability with external devices
The body of the LUMIX BGH1 is made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy and is therefore both light and robust. Thanks to the new cooling concept, the camera has no length limits for video recording. It therefore offers two SD card slots, which can be used as a backup in parallel or for longer recordings one after the other.

The LUMIX BGH1 is a compact, lightweight box-style camera that is very easy to mount and install thanks to Power over Ethernet+ (PoE+). Up to twelve LUMIX BGH1 cameras can be controlled via the new LUMIX Tether for Multicam PC software. A future firmware update will also enable IPStreaming (RTP/RTSP) via the network cables.

In addition to the USB 3.1 Type-C interface, the camera offers a 3G-SDI and an HDMI Type-A output, both of which can output a video signal in parallel. There is also a genlock IN and a timecode IN/OUT for easy synchronization during multicam recordings. Thanks to its wide range of interfaces, the LUMIX BGH1 can be easily combined with external monitors, rigs and gimbals from third-party manufacturers, making it a highly scalable solution for a wide range of requirements.
